My name is Emily and I am an explorer, a lover of people, a community member, and a giver. Most importantly a Pokémon GO trainer. When I was five years old, I was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, which was a term for high-functioning Autism. All this means is: although I could speak, comprehend others, and take care of myself, I didn’t understand what was socially right and wrong as quickly as my peers. Being unable to connect with others until I was around 14 years old, I developed a craving for true connection and love.
I’m passionate for exploring those unseen, and I’ve decided to document my journey. I hope the stories in this blog will warm your heart as much as these people and communities have warmed mine.
Summer 2016 I am interning with the Coharie tribe of NC.
Fall 2016 I will be studying abroad in Ghana.
